The Evans School has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Digital Communications Specialist with excellent written and multimedia design skills. The emphasis of this role will be on telling stories in a variety of formats that highlight the breadth, depth, and impact of our faculty, students, and staffs work to educate leaders, generate knowledge, and host communities to co-create solutions to pressing societal problems. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Digital Communications Specialist plays an important creative role within the school and the Advancement team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital Content Creator 55%
Create and oversee the development of video, audio, and graphical content to engage current and prospective audiences via website, social media, email, and internal channels.Produce supportive written materials to accompany media including Evans School website, internal channels, newsletters, and social media.Support graphic design for events and initiatives.
Multi-Media Curator 20%Work across teams at the Evans School and UW to create, draft, and distribute multimedia content about events, academic research, program highlights, and alumni stories.Build and maintain library of digital content.Direct and manage outside video and photography contractors.
Social Media 15%Serve as primary writer, content creator, moderator, and scheduler for the Evans Schools social media channels including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.Track social media analytics, engagement, trends, and audience retention.Define opportunities to grow followers and increase audience engagement.
Other 10%Assist in other projects as requested, including but not limited to development of new initiatives, branding efforts, design work, and proofreading.Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES:Respects, values, and contributes to the Evans Schools and UWs commitment to equity, inclusiveness, and diversity.Excellent writer and storyteller with attention to detail.Experience in digital marketing and strategy, including social media, website, and email tools and techniques.Proficiency with digital marketing and graphic design tools.Experience with video and audio production.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A bachelors degree in a relevant field and two or more years work experience producing digital and multimedia content. Work experience can substitute for education.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSA wide degree of creativity and flexibility.Demonstrated strong creative skills including writing, graphic design, video, and audio.Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and adhere to specific deadlines and goals.
